How it works

One light.
Zero “you up?” texts.

My Status is a tiny status light you share with the people who matter. Tap green when you’re free, amber when you’ll be ready soon, red when you’re out. They see it live — no messages, no buzzing phones, no waking anyone up.

Four steps

Set up in under a minute

No app store, no contact syncing, no location tracking. Just a light.

The three lights

Everyone already speaks traffic light

Green — Online

I’m around and happy to hear from you.

  • Free to chat or call
  • Awake and ready
  • On the way

Amber — Back soon

Nearly there. Add a “ready in” time if you like.

  • Ready in 5, 15, 30 or 60 min
  • Finishing something up
  • About to leave

Red — Offline

Not now. Catch me later.

  • Asleep, busy or away
  • Turns on automatically after 12 hours without an update
  • No one gets pinged
Real-life examples

Made for the moments between plans

Anywhere a group needs to know “are you ready?” without interrupting anyone, My Status fits.

🧳

Travelling with friends

See who’s awake — without waking anyone.

Sharing a villa, a hotel floor or a hostel dorm? Knocking on doors or messaging the group at 7am is a gamble. With My Status everyone flicks to green when they’re up, so you can see who’s ready for breakfast without the risk of waking the ones still asleep.

Tip: make a “Trip” group and set amber with “ready in 15” while you shower.

🚗

Car meets & convoys

Know who’s on the way, and who hasn’t left.

Organised a meet, a cruise or a cars-and-coffee? Stop asking “where’s everyone at?”. Drivers go amber when they’re about to leave and green once they’re rolling — you can see who’s on the way and who hasn’t left yet in one glance.

Tip: agree the colours up front — amber = leaving soon, green = on the road.

🌐

Work travel across time zones

Don’t wake the boss at 3am.

When someone on your team is on the road (Singapore on Monday, London by Thursday), working out their local time is guesswork. Get the time zone or the city wrong and you’ve rung the boss at 3am. With My Status you don’t need to know where in the world they are. Green means they’re online and free, amber means they’re between flights or wrapping up a meeting, and red means asleep or busy. My Status also shows their local time right next to their light, with a 🌙 when it’s night there. Check the light, then call.

No setup: their phone or laptop tells My Status its time zone, so it updates by itself every time they land somewhere new.

🎮

Gaming squads

Is anyone on tonight?

Stop spamming the group chat with “anyone on?”. Your squad’s lights show who’s ready to play, and My Status chimes the moment a mate goes green — so you jump in together instead of playing solo.

Tip: turn on the chime and desktop alerts in Settings.

🌏

Family across time zones

Call when it suits them, not when it suits the clock.

Mum in Melbourne, your brother in London, you on the road? Instead of doing time-zone maths (and still getting it wrong), just check their light. Green means they’re up and happy to chat — no 3am wake-up calls.

Tip: leave a message like “Home all evening” so they know there’s no rush.

🛠️

Small teams & tradies

Who can take the next job?

The office gets a call and needs someone now. Instead of ringing around the crew, they glance at My Status: green is free, amber is finishing up, red is flat out. Groups keep each crew or site separate.

Tip: use the List view on the office screen for the whole crew at once.

🏋️

Training buddies

Who’s heading to the gym?

Run club, gym partners, the Saturday tennis four. Go amber when you’re heading out and green when you’ve arrived — your mates know whether to grab their shoes or give it a miss today.

Tip: the “ready in” timer counts down for your mates automatically.

FAQ

Good questions

Does My Status share my location?

No. My Status never asks for or stores your location. People see your colour, your message, how long you’ve had that status and, if you leave it switched on, your local time and time zone (for example “Tokyo”). You can hide your local time in Settings.

How does My Status know what time it is for them?

Each person’s device tells My Status which time zone it’s set to, and My Status keeps it up to date every time they open the app, so it follows them as they travel. If they’re in the same time zone as you, My Status doesn’t show it, as there’s nothing to work out.

Who can see my light?

Only people who have both your code and your share password. You can see everyone who has added you in Settings and remove anyone instantly.

What if my code gets shared around?

Change your share password, and tick “also remove everyone” if you want a clean slate. You can also generate a brand new code at any time.

Do I need to install an app?

No. My Status runs in any modern browser on your phone, tablet or computer. On your phone, use “Add to Home Screen” and it behaves just like an app.

What happens if I forget to switch off?

If you don’t update your light for 12 hours, My Status switches you to red automatically so nobody thinks you’re around when you’re not.

Does adding someone let them see me too?

No — it’s one-way. Adding someone lets you see their light. For them to see yours, share your own code and password with them.

Light up in under a minute.

Free for up to 5 people. No app to install. Works on any phone or computer.
